Bora Isyar

As a Turkish-based writer, Bora Isyar has fully embraced his passion as a writer, editor, and translator for many publications. He is dedicated to exploring diverse narratives and contributing to meaningful cultural dialogue through his work.

    My Story

    Bora Isyar holds a PhD in Sociology from York University in Canada. After a decade teaching at institutions such as the National University of Ireland, Koç University, and Sabancı University, he made the bold decision to leave academia to pursue his true passion as a full-time writer, editor, and translator. His notable publications include Europe after Derrida: Crisis and Potentiality (Edinburgh University Press) and Gordon Milne: Futbola Adanmış Bir Hayat (Mylos Press). Bora's insightful articles can be found in renowned platforms such as Nations and Nationalism, Open Democracy, The Guardian, Jadalliya, and When Saturday Comes, among others. Additionally, he is a regular contributor to the Istanbul Elsewhere project, further showcasing his commitment to cultural discourse and exploration.
