Ally Gammill

Ally Gammill fell in love with writing about food through running the University of Chicago’s culinary magazine, Bite, throughout her time in college.

My Story

Through Bite magazine, she began interviewing people across the food world and discovered her passion for the stories, connections, and individuals behind what we eat. As she traveled and gathered these stories, she became inspired by the way food can build bridges, how everyone has a personal, often deeply human story tied to what they cook or eat. It’s that sense of shared humanity she hopes to express through her writing.

When she’s not writing, you’ll likely find her cooking an overly ambitious dinner or baking bread. She’s happily based in Chicago, with plans to attend culinary school abroad in the near future.
